As soon as we pulled up to the front gate I knew we were in for a treat, with the hay covered driveway lined with trees and a paddock filled with cows, horses, and sheep. We turned the corner at the end and saw “A Little Bit of Bliss” tucked away by the trees, the space private and tranquil.
It didn’t take us long to get the fire started, with a beverage in hand while we watched the sky change colour as the sun went down.
The next morning we woke to see the sunrise, a truly peaceful experience with the surrounding farm and wildlife sounds, and a coffee to keep us warm - Highly recommend a stroll up the hill of the property at sunrise or sunset for an even better view of the rolling hills and forest.
After breakfast we spent the day exploring. First stop was Golden Valley Tree Park, only a 7 minute drive away and packed with lots of different scenic trails – it’s dog friendly too! We then moved onto Bridgetown, where we sat along the Blackwood River and watched people kayak. After that, we made our way through the countryside and vineyards ending up in Nannup, where we had lunch at the Nannup Brewing Company. The brewery was very well laid out, dog friendly, and they make a GREAT burger.
By the time we got back to the cabin we were ready to unwind, setting up a platter and playing card games by the fire as the sun set over the hills.
A truly relaxing weekend getaway.
Things we did:
A short 7 minute drive away is the Golden Valley Tree Park. Pack your walking shoes, your camera, and the dog – as this is a stunning area with multiple trails to explore.
A scenic 30 minute drive from the Tiny Away cabin is a cool little brewery with multiple seating areas to choose from, dog friendly (our lucky pooch got a treat) and they make great food! We highly recommend the chicken burger. Nothing better than kicking back on a Saturday afternoon for lunch at a brewery with your fur baby, a beer, and live music.
Is there anything better than rocking up to your accommodation and they have a fire pit? Be sure to pack the marshmallows and card games, and kick back by the fire while enjoying green and golden views of the countryside.
